The Salvation Army has begun its first legacy campaign aimed at Salvationists, members of the church, and has developed a video to support it.

The video takes viewers inside the homes and lives of five members of the Salvation Army church as they reflect on the values that have shaped their lives.

It has been produced by Burnett Works and Bafta-nominated filmmaker Nick Read. It is designed to prompt viewers to think about their own beliefs and what kind of legacy their would like to leave. The film will be played to Salvation Army congregations at services, sent out in legacy packs to people making legacy enquires and shared online.

Salvation Army – Think differently about legacies from Burnett Works on Vimeo.

Helena Douglas at Burnett Works said: “Even though legacy giving is now more mainstream, what we’re hearing from charities is that it still feels a difficult subject for staff to discuss with potential donors. Creating a film that does the talking for them lifts that responsibility from people’s shoulders – and that was very much part of our thinking in creating this film.”
