Hospices benefit from cricket ticket giveaway

Howard Lake | 8 May 2012 | News

Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks have donated 500 tickets to cricket matches to hospices across the country to help them fundraise or give to patients and families.
The tickets for this summer’s Clydesdale Bank 40 (CB40) one-day cricket matches have been donated as part of Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks’ long-running partnership with Help the Hospices.
Hospices will be able to use the tickets to provide fun days out for patients and families, as rewards for dedicated volunteers, or as raffle or auction prizes to raise funds.
The CB40 season, which began last weekend, will culminate in a final at Lord’s on 15 September 2012.
Maxine Trotter, director of fundraising at Help the Hospices, said: “Our member hospices are local charities, and they rely on the support of companies like Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks in order to provide the very best care and support to patients and their families. The cricket tickets are another way that we continue to work together with the banks to support hospice care in local communities.”
