Dutch bird conservation charity chooses Blackbaud CRM

Vogelbescherming Nederland, the Dutch organisation for the conservation of wild birds and their habitats, has selected Blackbaud CRM™ to help it develop its outreach strategy and build its supporter base.
The charity is the Dutch equivalent to the UK’s RSPB and is one of Europe’s largest charities.
“Our forward-looking strategy is to become more than a membership organisation,” said Fred Wouters, Vogelbescherming’s director. “With greater than ever focus on lobbying and campaigning on the world stage, we are becoming a true movement and we want to enable all our stakeholders to play an active role.”
Blackbaud CRM has been developed specifically for large not-for-profit organisations, providing a multi-channel and scalable platform for constituent relationship management.
Christopher Goodhart, Blackbaud Europe’s strategic accounts director, described Vogelbescherming Nederland as “a large and evolving organisation” and one that “presents a complex specification that encompasses membership, fundraising and activist support”.
“Blackbaud CRM is an intelligent single solution that will empower Vogelbescherming in successfully managing its constituent relationships, its new direction, and future development,” he added.
The organisation, which translates as “bird protection” in English, was founded in 1899 and has 153,000 members.
