Localgiving.com to match fund £375,000 for local charities in England

Localgiving.com will match fund £375,000 in donations to local charities across England during March. Each charity can have up to £2,500 in donations matched.
The Localgiving.com March Match Fund could therefore generate £750,000 or more with Gift Aid within a few weeks. The last Match Fund campaign ran for seven days in December and boosted local cahrities by nearly £300,000.
Localgiving.com will begin matching donations pound for pound beginning at 09.00 on 1 March 2012, and will continue until the full £375,000 has been matched. Individual charities can receive more than £2,500 in donations of course, but donations above that amount will not be matched.

Limits of the March Match Fund?
There are a few limits to the fund:
• The standard minimum donation amount on Localgiving.com is £5
• The standard maximum donation amount on Localgiving.com is £1000 (per transaction)
• Charities with overdue subscriptions to Localgiving.com will not be eligible.
Localgiving.com points out that these limits are communicated on each charity’s donation page, so when a supporter makes a donation, s/he will be notified of the amounts available to donate and/or to be matched for each charity (with or without Gift Aid).
