Charities to benefit from donated used cars via Charity Car

Howard Lake | 15 January 2012 | News

Car recycling network Cartakeback has set up an initiative that enables people to donate their old car and turn it into a cash donation to charity. Charitycar is working with a range of charities including Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK, Trinity Hospice, The Rainforest Foundation, BEN, and Abbeyfield.
Charity Car collects the donors old car free of charge at a time that suits them. It will then be sold at auction or, if it is not saleable, any reusable parts will be recovered and sold, with the remaining materials recycled.
Since it was set up in May 2011 it has raised “hundreds of thousands of pounds” for its charity partners, according to Managing Director Graham Price.
Charity Car says that it “donates 100% of the market value of your scrap car”.
