The Daily Mirror is once again offering 3,000 places in the Bupa Great North Run, providing an opportunity for many individuals to raise funds for their favourite charity.
The half marathon attracts 54,000 runners and takes them through the streets of Newcastle, Gateshead and South Shields. This year it takes place on Sunday 16 September.
The 3,000 places are offered in a ballot which is open from today until midnight on 6 January 2012. Entrants must be over 17 years old, and successful applicants will be required to pay an entrance fee of £48, or £75 for overseas residents.
Charities keen to raise funds from the Great North Run can promote this week’s opportunity to their supporters and encourage them to try to secure a place and fundraise for the charity.
