Stunning images of the beautifully restored Theatre Royal have been sold so far raising £2,750 for Breast Cancer Care.
The photographs, which were taken by keen amateur photographer Rory Gibson from Hexham, have been purchased by individuals and organisations including Astryan Ltd, Newcastle Theatre Royal and Nigel Wright Recruitment, who have used the images on invitations and other marketing materials, raising £1,000. This amount was then generously matched by SURGO Construction, the contractor responsible for carrying out the £4.7million restoration and a further £750 was kindly donated by Barclays Bank.
Mr Gibson was given unlimited access to the Theatre during the project and was able to capture a range of before and after shots. Anyone wishing to make a donation to Breast Cancer Care by purchasing copies of the photographs can do so by logging onto www.flickr.com/photos/gibbo_rory1 and emailing Rory on ro*********@ro********.com where photographs are available for a minimum donation of £10 per image.
Helen Cameron, Area Fundraiser at Breast Cancer Care said:
“We are delighted that Rory used his Theatre Royal photographs to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care. In the UK someone is diagnosed with breast cancer every 11 minutes, so the demand for our free services is huge. The fundraising efforts of individuals such as Rory are hugely appreciated and ensure that we can continue our life-changing work.”
