Manchester City FC looks for two new charity partners
Manchester City FC is looking for two local charities partners to become the East Manchester Charity of the Year and the Manchester Charity of the Year. Applications are invited from charitable and not-for-profit organisations throughout the Greater Manchester area.
The chosen projects should benefit young people and families in Manchester, through community cohesion, skills and enterprise schemes and urban sports programmes.
The two organisations will receive up to £50,000 from City in the Community (CITC) Giving, the community scheme set up 25 years ago by the club. The grants will fund a specific project for the community which they serve. The two organisations will also benefit from profile-raising player appearances, the donation of signed merchandise and promotional opportunities through the Club’s media channels.
Fans will be invited to be part of Sport Relief’s Shoot for the Moon fundraising efforts by hosting their own events or participating in activities arranged by the Club on behalf of their nominated charities.
The first fundraising event will be a Santa Stroll on 4 December, with the Santas all wearing Man City blue rather than the red of another Manchester-based football club.
