SOCITM offers £5000 travel bursary to ICT/digital starter

The Society of Information Technology Management (SOCITM) is inviting applications for its £5,000 bursary fund to help someone starting out in their career in ICT or digital and who would benefit from a short period of work experience abroad.
The Graham Williamson Challenge is a travel award is designed to help the recipient broaden their understanding of public sector ICT by giving them an international perspective.
The award is open to any individual who is starting out on their ICT career and who works or aspires to work in the public or third sectors.
The challenge was established in memory of Graham Williamson, a former Head of IT Services at Argyll and Bute Council. He was passionate about IT and heavily involved in SOCITM both at a regional and national level.
Past winners have travelled to Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
The deadline for applications is 14 October 2011.
