British 10k London 2012 run brought forward by a week
The 12th British 10 kilometre London run will now be held on 8 July 2012, one week earlier than originally planned. This is due to the fact that part of the race route will come under the control of the Olympic Delivery Network on 9 July. Much of the race route will for part of the Olympic marathon route.
Event Founder and Director Michael O’Reilly says that all charities and individuals who have already signed up have been contacted about the date change.
The official race charity for 2011 was Anthony Nolan, but over 25,000 runners take part, raising funds for nearly 600 charities. Charities buy places in the event and then ask runners to pledge to raise a minimum amount in order to secure one of those places.
