JustTextGiving extended to individual fundraisers

Howard Lake | 23 June 2011 | News

JustTextGiving, the mobile donations service set up by JustGiving and Vodafone, has now expanded its availability from charities to all individuals who wish to fundraise via JustGiving.
Individuals can now invite their friends, family and colleagues to sponsor them via their mobile phone, texting their donation to the charity via JustGiving using a text donation code. Whereas sponsorship could previously be given only via the JustGiving website, this mobile option has the potential to expand events-based giving considerably since anyone with a mobile phone, not just a smartphone, will be able to make a donation.
John Hibbs, who fundraises via JustGiving, said: “I think this is a fantastic and innovative way to boost donations which, until now, has been out of the reach of the individual fundraiser, but with the help of JustGiving donating has just become even simpler. I will be promoting my text donation number on my running vest and the t-shirts of my supporters which will hopefully get those valuable donations from the public who feel spurred on to support me during my challenges.”
