WRVS has appointed Verity Haines as its new Executive Director of Fundraising and Engagement. She joins the age positive charity from her post as National Arts Director for Arts & Business. Previously she has worked for Save the Children, Oxfam, the British Diabetic Association, University of Cambridge and the Royal Society of Arts (RSA).
Haines has also served on the Executive of the Institute of Fundraising and co-founded the Institute London Group. She is an advisor to BBC World Service Trust and has been a member of BAFTA and Fellow of the RSA for a number of years.
WRVS Chief Executive Lynne Berry said: “Our mission is to help older people get more out of life by providing practical services, powered by volunteers. We have built on our unique history, repositioning WRVS to be positive about life and practical about age, and the appointment of Verity will provide further strategic and operational leadership during this exciting time for WRVS.”
