Fundraising from the USA

Are there others (like me) who know very little about the British Schools and Universities Foundation, Inc. (BSUF) – “an exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3)”?
It lists lots of schools and univertsities on its website (www.bsuf.org), but there are notable exceptions. Perhaps many have other arrangements. BSUF states that it has no full-time staff or office overheads, and is managed by volunteers who serve without compensation of any kind. It reports that its operating expenses and scholarship awards are supported by income from investment of its own funds, by member dues and by contributions from friends.
Apparently BSUF does not charge a fee or commission for its services.
Do others get this type of service free, elsewhere?
