Charity Pulse survey open to all

This year’s Charity Pulse 2011 voluntary sector staff satisfaction survey is now available online.
Charity Pulse is an annual sector-wide staff satisfaction survey run by Birdsong Charity Consulting and Third Sector magazine. It is open to anyone working for a charity and the aim of the research is to built up a picture of working life in charities and help raise the standard of people management in the sector.
People can give their views on how they feel about their work/life balance, the quality of internal communications in their organisation, the effectiveness of their management and their development and reward. This year is also focusing on the causes of stress in charities.
This is the fifth year of the survey and data collected enables comparisons to be made between staff satisfaction in different sub-sectors, as well as identifying differences of opinion between different departments, age groups, large and small charities and so on. A free report of the key findings is available each July at www.bird-song.co.uk
Charities can get benchmarked information for their charity by promoting the survey to staff. A report that compares that charity’s staff responses with the sector as a whole will be provided.
With five years of data, Birdsong is planning to produce an additional report on fundraisers’ job satisfaction and motivations as well as the sector-wide one.
