Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales reports that its income for 2011 will be £25.2 million and that this level of funding will be sustained throughout 2012 and 2013.
The charity, which helps disadvantaged people play a fuller role in the community, has over the last three years provided support in over 97% of local authorities across England and Wales. Of this funding, 49% was weighted towards the top 20 most deprived areas.
Since it was established 25 years ago, the Foundation has granted £297 million to 42,000 charities. Over the last three years £56.8 million has been invested in the flagship community programme, primarily in core costs.
As well as helping charities to maintain, expand or improve their core services, the funding helped 30% of recipient organisations to secure additional funding from other sources.
Linda Kelly, Chief Executive said: “We hope our continued approach, as a leading community funder, will help provide the much needed support and core funding charities need to continue their vital work with our society’s most disadvantaged people and communities.”
