Recycling and waste management company Veolia Environmental Services has chosen mental health charity Mind as its first Charity of the Year. The partnership is expected to raise £100,000 through staff fundraising initiatives, sponsorship opportunities and payroll giving.
The partnership will also provide opportunities for staff to volunteer within Mind’s network of shops and local associations, as well as harnessing Veolia’s environmental background in Ecominds, the charity’s environmental projects scheme. Veolia employs over 12,000 people across the country.
Mind Chief Executive Paul Farmer said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Veolia and engaging their staff in our wide range of work on both a local and national level. I hope the partnership will raise as much as possible to help people experiencing mental distress, as well as highlighting the importance of promoting good mental health for all.”
Mind will run the partnership throughout England and Wales while the Scottish Association for Mental Health will organise the campaign in Scotland.
