Association of Charity Shops rebrands as Charity Retail Association

Howard Lake | 7 November 2010 | News

The Association of Charity Shops has changed its name to the Charity Retail Association after consulting with its members. The new name was announced at its annual general meeting last week.
The Association, which aims to promote and support the charity retail sector, has over 320 members who together run about 7,000 shops across the UK.
The organisation’s new brand incorporates a new logo for the Code of Charity Retailing, which was introduced in April 2005 and is the only self-regulatory code for charity retailers. Members are required to display the logo wherever possible, such as in charity shops, on textile and book recycling banks, on house-to-house collection sacks and vans.
