NCVO has published ‘The Art of Raising Money’ by Professor Ian Bruce CBE. Subtitled “using marketing theory to stabilise and grow your income”, the book aims to show charities how theories and techniques developed in the commercial world can help them “to transform fundraising and income generation so that it is sustainable, integrated and rewarding”.
The book covers what to do first if you need to raise funds urgently; how to choose new methods for income generation and consider the return on investment they are likely to give you; and how to apply marketing theory to your chosen income generation methods to make them sustainable.
Professor Bruce founded the nonprofit management centre at City University’s Cass Business School (Cass CCE), where he specialises in strategy and marketing of fundraising, services and campaigning.
For this book he has partnered with the Sustainable Funding Project at NCVO.
The book costs £17.50 or £12.50 to NCVO members.
