Rewired State – time for young coders and designers

Howard Lake | 9 July 2010 | Blogs

For the second time Rewired State initiative is opening the doors for young coders and designers to deliver specific solutions and suggest their ideas to the government.

This year we are going to be running a slightly different event that is essentially a hack week for young developers across the country to go and build visualisations, digital and/or non-digital products using government data, alongside working devs in businesses across the UK. These would be presented back to government at the end of the week, either in person, or by live stream from wherever you are based.

You can find examples of those solutions on the event site from last year. Personally I like the idea of working with positive images and attitudes presented by this one, for example.

It’s a great idea giving younger, talented people opportunity to direct their talents at something extremely important to all of us. I am extremely happy to see this potential in action, and I hope you will watch carefully for the notes and updates from this year’s edition.

More information on their website, and wiki page.
