First Fridays, the IFC’s free fundraising clinic is held at The Hub Kings Cross, 34B York Way, London this Friday 2 July from 2.00 – 5.00. Everyone is welcome to come and ask any question about fundraising. If you can’t make this Friday then come along on any first Friday of the month. There is no need to book.

One of the delights of First Friday is that people round the table often share problems but also share solutions. Though we at the IFC think we know a thing or two about fundraising, it is surprising how much expertise is revealed as people discuss the issues raised. Sometimes these are simply how do I…. type questions, at other times more philosophical questions about good or sharp practice.

These debates also led to the setting up of Wikifund at www.wikifund.info to provide the kind of answers fundraisers and others were seeking, whilst giving an area where all that locked up knowledge could be released and used to help others. Do look at the section that talks about your area of fundraising and improve it directly on screen. Don’t be afraid of rebuilding areas that are weak if you have substantially more knowledge. You can also put a link to appropriate external sites at the foot of the page.
