Hug a Chugger on 18 June – and every day

Hug a Chugger is an idea “created to test and inspire creative people to invent their own flash mob type of ground actions to help their favourite causes- and local charity workers”.
The initiative has been set up by “the Conspiracy for Good” to “spotlight the good work these people [face-to-face fundraisers] do.” It was first tested on the streets of central London a couple of weeks ago with a group of volunteers and friends wearing ‘Hug a Chugger’ t-shirts “to raise attention to the fundraisers on location”. Various t-shirt slogans were used, created by local artists and students. There were “hug a chugger”, “I’m with good”, and “Don’t say sorry to the chugger, say yes”.
The action supported a face-to-face fundraising campaign for Amnesty International UK.
The volunteers were so pleased with the feedback that they will be running another ‘Hug a Chugger’ “ground action” on 18 June. Supporters of face-to-face fundraisers are invited to join them at Leicester Square at 2pm on Friday 18 June where t-shirts will be handed out.
You’ll be able to buy one of these t-shirts from 25 June at www.culturelabel.com, with the proceeds going to “a good cause.”

We can’t make it, but if anyone joins in, do let us know how it goes.
