British Gas chooses Make-A-Wish as charity of the year

British Gas has pledged to raise £250,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK, its newly selected charity of the year. The company’s 26,000 staff were invited to vote for one of seven nominated charities, and Make-A-Wish Foundation was the clear winner with 8,500 votes cast, a record number of votes in this process for the company.

British Gas willl be organising numerous fundraising events throughout the year, including two charity bike rides and a World Cup event.

Chris Jansen, Group Commercial Director at British Gas, said: “Last year British Gas and its staff raised almost £150,000 and we will do even better this year.”
