Barclays offers £50,000 each to 10 best business ideas

Howard Lake | 25 March 2010 | News

Barclays is offering £50,000 each to the top ten business ideas submitted to its Take One Small Step competition. The competition is open to existing businesses (and charities and voluntary organisations are of course businesses) or start-up businesses. It aims “to find people with ambition, passion and, most importantly, a great business idea”.
The only apparent restriction to a charity entering is that “winning entrants will be required to open a Barclays Business Current Account if they do not currently have one”, according to the terms and conditions.
Entry is online and entrants are encouraged to submit a two-minute video to summarise and promote their entry. The competition is regional and involves the public voting on a shortlist.
The closing date for entries is 23.59 on 16 May 2010.
