Howard Lake | 24 March 2010 | News

The Directory of Social Change has published a new edition of the Government Funding Guide, featuring 150 local authorities and £2.2 billion of funding from over 200 central government departments. Each chapter provides a breakdown of how each level of government funds the voluntary sector.
The government is the largest provider of funding to the voluntary sector. Author Sarah Johnston said: “In comparison with grant-making charities, statutory funding is constantly evolving. This guide enables fundraisers to engage with statutory funders in what is a fast paced and competitive environment.”
First published in 1998, this is the third edition of the book. It is part of the Specialist Funding Guide Series published by DSC which also includes, The Environment Funding Guide (new), The Youth Funding Guide and The Sports Funding Guide.
The Government Funding Guide by Sarah Johnston is published at £35.
