National Trust fundraising appeal for New Inn
The National Trust has chosen direct-to-digital marketing agency TDA to devise a campaign to help save the New Inn, a rare example of an eighteenth century posting inn at Stowe Landscape Gardens in Buckinghamshire. The building is in danger of collapsing.
Around 200,000 people will be contacted via a direct mail communication that highlights the historical and cultural significance of the inn, and demonstrates the extent of its dilapidation.

The appeal will be sent both to existing donors and local National Trust members who may not have responded to fundraising appeals from the charity in the past. The campaign message will be tailored for each audience segment.
“Developing members into donors is always a challenge for organisations like the National Trust,” said David Burrows, Head of Fundraising at TDA. “However, the charm and significance of this building is immense, and we believe its story will resonate with local members of the charity and traditional donors alike.”
