UK has 500,000 millionaires, say Prospecting for Gold

A new research paper from prospect research and wealth specialists Prospecting for Gold Ltd reports that there are up to 500,000 millionaires in the UK. This figure is higher than previous estimates, such as that contained in Merrill Lynch & Capgemini’s World Wealth Report.
This new estimate takes into account estimates of the wealth of company directors, shareholders, property owners and highly remunerated employees.
The Wealth Intelligence Digest which contains the research is the first in a series of research papers on the nature of wealth in the UK.
James Redhead, the author of the report, said: “The number of millionaires in the UK is always a statistic which fascinates people. We wanted to use all our factual information sources on wealth to produce our own detailed conclusion”.
Prospecting for Gold have been collecting publicly available information on wealthy and influential individuals for 20 years, creating and developing the Wealth Intelligence Database.
Prospecting for Gold hope the series will be of use to not-for-profit organisations in planning major donor fundraising, and to any organisation interested in UK wealth research.
The full report ‘Wealth Intelligence Digest: UK Millionaires’ was released in December 2009 and can be downloaded free from the Resources section of Prospecting for Gold’s website.
