DEC Appeal raises £7 million in one month

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) appeal for Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam, first broadcast on TV on 6 October, has raised £7 million in its first month.
Over one million pounds came in via Royal Mail, despite concerns about potential disruption due to postal strikes in October. DEC say that this level of postal donations is consistent with previous DEC appeals.
The appeal raised over £1 million in 24 hours and £3 million in the first week.
