Gloucestershire Hospital NHS Foundations Trust has donated orthopaedic equipment to Mercy Ships, the international charity that provides free medical and humanitarian care to the people of Africa.

The Synthes trauma kit is worth over £100,000 and will help in treating problems that develop in bones, joints and ligaments of the human body.

Patients are treated onboard the Africa Mercy, the world’s largest charity hospital ship, which is staffed by a volunteer crew of more than 400.
