Upward Curve PR chooses Prime as charity of the year

Ethical communications agency Upward Curve PR has chosen Prime, a charity helping people over the age of fifty set up in business for themselves, as its Charity of the Year for 2009/10.

Upward Curve PR works to promote social, environmental and economic issues. Helen Ashley, its Director, said: “We were overwhelmed with 100 applications from some fantastic smaller not-for-profits including charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups, all needing professional PR, marketing or media support.”

The agency is now calling on other PR agencies to provide pro bono support for charities and voluntary organisations. It has listed on its website the unsuccessful applicants who could benefit from this kind of help.

Upward Curve PR has been adopting a Charity of the Year for the last six years and has used the opportunity to provide support for organisations tackling a range of issues from foetal alcohol syndrome in the UK to the growing numbers of street children in Nepal.
