Avoiding email nightmares

I still subscribe to the Harvard Business Review newsletters, partly because of my previous commercial careers but mostly because it continues to remind me how many issues and good ideas are shared between nfp and commercial organisations.

This week’s instalment contained a timely reminder (I thought, anyway) of 10 tips to create a great email.  This is as opposed to cluttering up the recipient’s inbox with yet more ‘stuff’ they don’t see as relevant or useful.

I particularly liked the point about not sending messages to team or boss from a bar late at night… With the plethora of capable devices around enabling us all to send a message pretty much at any time, we really should think about whether that joke seems funny to a sober recipient!
