Conference mood positive

The recent fundraising conference in Dublin organised by Fundraising Ireland heard a generally positive message despite the recession and concerns about future income.
Over 200 people heard an array of local and international speakers including Bernard Ross, Darly Upsall, Jon Duschensky, Liz Roche from Saint Vincent DePaul and Ciara Tallon from Special Olympics.
The feedback from the Croke Park conference, entitled ‘Survival and Growth in a Challenging Climate’ was positive, with some charities reporting record years in the last financial year.
There was a consensus, however, that charities would have to adapt and sharpen their practices but that there was still potential to weather the storm.
