Northern Ireland’s longest running commercial radio stations, Downtown Radio and 97.4 Cool FM, have launched a new charity ‘Cash for Kids,’ with the promise of hundreds of thousands of pounds for disadvantaged local children.
Launching the new charity fund, Managing Director Mark Mahaffy said that it was important for corporate Northern Ireland to fulfil its social responsibilities:
“We intend to make an enormous difference to the lives of young people and we will be working closely with other local companies to create spectacular fundraising events as well as providing a public platform for companies and communities to work with us in raising these much needed funds.
Fundraising and giving will be ongoing throughout the year and we will be actively encouraging young individuals, children’s charities and youth organisations to come forward with requests for support that will benefit disadvantaged 0-17 year olds that need our help.”
