Lloyds TSB applications jump over 30%

Howard Lake | 1 October 2009 | News

Applications to Lloyds TSB Foundation in Northern Ireland increased more than 30% in the last round in July the organisation has reported. While not attributing the increase exclusively to more difficult economic times, the foundation expects the number of applications to increase as charities feel the crunch.

Lloyds TSB made grants last year of over £1.5 million, an increase of £200,000 from the previous year. Lloyds TSB in Northern Ireland receives its income by way of a covenant from Lloyds TSB plc. Last year the covenant was worth just under £2 million.

The Foundation’s standard grants programme supports education and training and social and community welfare. The Foundation also has two additional programmes called Creating Change and the Special Initiatives Fund.
