Clothing retailer White Stuff has raised £32,000 for Cancer Research UK by passing on the VAT cut to the charity. When VAT was cut to 15% last year, the retailer donated the extra 2.5% from all website sales to the charity.
Sally Bailey, White Stuff’s CEO, said: “With the continuing recession, charities have suffered as people have cut down on their spending and White Stuff is very conscious of this. With the support of our customers, we’ve raised over £150,000 for charities around the country and to Cancer Research UK via our web sales”.
