Amanda Ball, currently Director of Fundraising & Marketing and Help the Aged, has been appointed to the position of Group Marketing Director for the new charity which is being created from the merger of Age Concern and Help the Aged.
She will take up her new post from 1 March, the month before the merged charity gets underway. She will report to the new Chief Executive, Tom Wright.
Ball joined Help the Aged almost three years ago, initially as Interim Fundraising Director, and then took on responsibility for the Marketing functions in September 2007. She was formerly Chief Executive at Gingerbread and holds Directorships at the RNID and the National Autistic Society.
At the merged charity, Amanda will lead on the development of the new brand for the new organisation as well as devise and implement an income generation strategy.
She will also lead the development of a new offline and online marketing strategy which will encompass “the latest generation design and content”.
Ball said: “Both heritage brands can boast of so much success down the years – whether it be in terms of income generation, deploying up-to-the-minute marketing techniques or through engagement with the widest range of stakeholders to secure success.
“Our challenge is to build on that expertise and knowledge and make sure that the merged charity plays to its strengths and doesn’t shy away from using the most innovative techniques and cross-selling opportunities at our disposal”.
