Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator – online survey
The website of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR – www.oscr.org.uk) asks visitors wanting to search the register to complete a survey about the website. One of the questions is “What further information would you like to see available on the Register?” I think that this is an ideal opportunity to ask for major improvements to the site.
I would like to be able to see the name of any business that acted as correspondent listed on the entry for the charity. I want to be able to see who are the trustees and officers, and to know what other charities they might act for. I also want to see a copy of the latest accounts, at least, ideally the accounts for a few years.
The register contains details of trusts based throughout the UK, and that fund projects throughout the UK, and beyond. I think that we need to be able to have a good old rummage. Meanwhile, I shall continue to monitor Guidestar UK (http://guidestar.org.uk), as it is always possible that they might include information from OSCR on their website.
What do you think?
