Credit Union celebrates with €100,000 donation

As part of the 50th celebrations of the founding of the credit union movement, the Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU) has launched the Credit Union Community Chest which will distribute €100,000 in Ireland.
The Credit Union Community Chest is also supported by the Irish Independent and the Belfast Telegraph.
The Credit Union Community Chest is run on a regional basis providing a €20,000* grant in each of the 5 regions – Ulster, Munster, Leinster (excluding Dublin both City & County), Connacht and Dublin (encompassing both City & County). An overall winner from one of these five regional winners will be chosen to receive an additional €20,000* grant (or £15,000 if organisation/group is in Northern Ireland).
Applications are invited from community organisations/groups which operate projects on a not-for-profit basis with the primary aim of providing tangible benefit(s) to persons with special needs. Persons with special needs include those with physical, sensory or intellectual disabilities.
The closing date for entries is Friday, 21st November 2008.
