Lloyds TSB applications jump by 30%

Howard Lake | 1 October 2008 | News

Applications to Lloyds TSB Foundation in Northern Ireland increased by over 30% during the last round in July the Foundation has reported. The Foundation is not sure if it’s down to the worsening economy but expects a growth in applications for that reason in the near future.
Last year the Foundation made grants of nearly £1.5 million, an increase of around £200,000 from the previous year. In common with the other Lloyds’ foundations, Lloyds TSB Foundation in Northern Ireland is funded by a covenant from Lloyds TSB plc. In 2007 the covenant to Northern Ireland was just under £2 million.
Projects funded under the Foundation’s standard programme in Northern Ireland fall into the general categories of education and training and social and community welfare. Recently the Foundation has also begun to give more substantial grants under its ‘Creating Change’ programme and a Special Initiatives Fund.
The next application deadline is 10th October.
