Everyclick and Clear Channel Outdoor have launched the 2009 Everyclick Charities Challenge. The competition encourages charities to boost their fundraising efforts via the search engine that donates 50% of its income to charity. The winner will receive a high-profile advertising campaign across 1,500 Clear Channel Outdoor sites.

To be in with a chance of winning, charities must register online. The six month challenge period starts on 15 October and ends on 31 March 2009. During this time Everyclick will keep a tally of how much is being raised for each charity via their supporters’ online fundraising.

Five charities within the small, medium and large categories will then be shortlisted based upon the amount of money raised through Everyclick during the competition period as a proportion of each charities declared income and the amount raised per supporter.

The finalists will then be judged by a panel of independent sector experts who will select three category winners and an overall winner who will receive the prize of a free national outdoor advertising campaign. The panel will judge the entrants on money raised and the innovative and imaginative ways they have encouraged their supporters to use Everyclick.

The winner of each category will also receive free advertising on Everyclick.

The 2009 competition is being launched to coincide with advertising campaign of the 2008 winner, Diabetes UK, which beat 550 entrants. Clear Channel Outdoor estimate that its ‘Measure Up’ poster campaign will be viewed 192 million times.

We want charities of all sizes to rise to the challenge and encourage their staff, corporate partners, donors and fundraisers to use Everyclick’s growing range of online fundraising tools as an additional and sustainable revenue stream".

The winners will be announced in May 2009.
