'Do it!' workshop helps charities to turn ideas into action

Howard Lake | 16 September 2008 | News

Two local training organisations are holding a day-long workshop to enable 3rd sector organisations to achieve more of their goals, quicker and easier than ever before. Aware Plus Ltd and 26-01 (a community interest company) are bringing over 50 years of combined experience in focus, fundraising, negotiation and persuasion together – and delivering it in a day of training called “Do it!” on October 24th 2008 in Newcastle.
Do it! training days are designed to provide people working within the charity and voluntary sectors with the skills and confidence to turn their ideas in to action and to find people who can help them along the way. Delegates will learn some of the nerve-combating techniques used by professional actors, dancers and athletes to get themselves focused and ready to step up and do what they’re afraid of… as well as being introduced to some of the new methods developed by psychologists for developing long-term assurance.
Dr Simon Raybould of Aware Plus Ltd says of the course “This is a wonderful opportunity for people who have a great idea about how to make the world a better place to find the courage to go out and “Do it!” and to learn how to be confident in situations that would normally fill them with fear”.
The course will be held in Blackfriars Restaurant on Friars St, Newcastle, one of the regions finest venues and an excellent lunch is included in the £85 (+vat) course fee.
