Veterinary charity PDSA has launched the first charity mobile phone pay-as-you-go SIM card, the “PDSA Dog and Bone”. Working with Nomi Mobile, the charity’s new SIM cards will raise funds for its free veterinary services for pets in need of vets.
For every PDSA Dog and Bone £5 top-up card sold, £1.50 is received by the charity. While stocks last, customers will get a free PDSA Dog and Bone SIM card with every £5 top-up purchased in store. PDSA Dog and Bone cards can be topped-up in denominations of £5, £10 and £20.
SIMs and top-ups can be bought online at www.pdsa.org.uk, or in the charity’s 179 shops UK-wide. Top-ups can also be purchased at 80,000 locations nationwide. The charity receives up to 10% of any top-up income generated.
PDSA say that the sim cards “offer some of the most competitive call rates on the market”, with UK call rates at 15p a minute to other mobiles, and 13p to landlines and 9p for texts.
PDSA Head of Trading, David Facer, said: “We’re confident that mobile ‘phone users, particularly those conscientious bargain hunters who have an eye for both value and charity, will see the clear cost benefits of switching to ‘PDSA Dog and Bone’.”
