Five years of Google Grants worth $273.3 million

Howard Lake | 8 May 2008 | Blogs

Google Grants, the search engine’s first corporate philanthropy programme, was five years old last month. The first recipient of its donated cost-per-click AdWords advertising account began using it on 1 April 2003. Since then Google Grants has been extended to 15 more countries, including the UK. Currently over 4,000 organisations benefit from free AdWords advertising.
To date, Google estimates these donated accounts have been worth $273.3 million.
