Deafness and hard of hearing charity RNID has today announced ‘Sound Solutions’, a guide to help charities ensure that their services reach the nine million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK.
Produced by RNID Products, the charity’s not-for-profit retail arm, the guide share’s the charity’s expertise on what help and equipment is needed to comply with disability law, with other third sector organisations.
RNID gives examples of products “that are easy to fit and make an enormous difference” such as the RNID Ezee Loop, a portable counter loop which cuts out background noise for hearing aid users, and the charity’s TalkbyText software which allows frontline staff or those working with deaf colleagues to make and receive real-time text calls on their computer.
Mark Catling, Director of Business Development, RNID Products, said: “We have produced Sound Solutions as an easy to follow guide for charities wanting to make the changes needed to expand their reach and become accessible to deaf and hard of hearing service users and staff…
“The guide clearly lays out the support RNID Products can provide – advice, equipment, installation and maintenance – meaning help is at hand for the whole process.”
