I CAN's nursery rhyme website aims to raise £55,000
Children’s communication charity I CAN has launched a fundraising website which aims to find the nation’s favourite nursery rhyme. If it receives enough votes, a corporate sponsor will donate up to £55,000.
Designed by Kent-based create agency Remedy and web development company, Interbyte, the site gives people the chance to vote for their favourite nursery rhyme. Once they have voted, they can also record their nursery rhyme and have it uploaded to the site for the whole world to listen to.
The charity needs to receive 50,000 votes and 2,500 recordings by 30 April to unlock donations of £50,000 and £5,000 respectively from I CAN’s corporate sponsor, Openreach.
Remedy worked closely with I CAN to develop the concept, and designed and project-managed the website; technical development was undertaken by Interbyte.
I CAN’s head of corporate partnerships, Tim Brindle, said: “The words, rhythm and sounds of nursery rhymes are a fantastic way for children to develop their speech and language. We are trying to find the nation’s favourite nursery rhyme, while raising awareness of the importance of communication, and of course, a considerable donation from Openreach”.
