Resource Alliance and SOFII to join forces

The Showcase of Fundraising Innovation and Inspiration (SOFII) is to become an integral part of the Resource Alliance’s service offering. It will retain its discrete identity and founder Ken Burnett is to remain as project manager for SOFII in the medium-term. If all goes well, over time it will be integrated more fully into the Resource Alliance’s portfolio.
SOFII seeks to provide fundraisers everywhere with a comprehensive, easily accessible archive of the best creative fundraising from around the world. Anyone can nominate innovative, inspirational or instructive fundraising concepts for inclusion in the site, and links will be added to all the best fundraising websites globally.
The organisation is aiming to have 200 or more individual exhibits on the website by the end of 2008 and to have a minimum of 3,000 fundraisers registered for the site. Registration is free.
Simon Collings, chief executive of the Resource Alliance said: “SOFII is a great resource for fundraisers around the world and complements many of the educational initiatives we are involved in. We are delighted to be working with Ken on this project.”
Ken Burnett, founder of SOFII said: “There’s been a hugely positive response to the idea of SOFII from fundraisers around the world, particularly those in the USA and Australia as well as in the UK. However, working with the Resource Alliance will help bring SOFII’s free service to fundraisers in many developing markets and so will greatly assist the sharing and spreading of fundraising best practice across the world.”
SOFII is looking for an editor/website manager who will be based at the Resource Alliance’s office in London and will help build and develop the resource to be of lasting value to fundraisers and campaigners worldwide.
