CIM updates marketing qualifications
The Chartered Institute of Marketing has updated two of its four core marketing qualifications. The Introductory Certificate in Marketing and the Professional Certificate in Marketing will be taught from July 2008.
They are the first professional marketing qualifications to incorporate the new National Occupational Standards in Marketing as specified by the Government-funded Marketing and Sales Standards Setting Body (MSSSB).
The qualifications’ update follows consultation with academics, The Institute’s Accredited Study Centres, Studying Members, and employers, to ensure that the qualifications are relevant for marketing practitioners.
Professor Keith Fletcher, director of education at The Chartered Institute of Marketing said of the updated qualifications: “Employers should see a real benefit from staff taking the new qualifications as they will be equipped with practical skills to deliver value to the business”.
