John Lewis Department Stores have chosen Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Foundation as its Charity of the Year 2008.

The partnership was launched with a visit, appropriately enough, to the cheese room at John Lewis Oxford Street Foodhall by Aardman characters Wallace and Gromit.

Andy Street, Managing Director, John Lewis, said: "Our contribution to the communities where we trade is a vital part of what makes our business different and we are embracing not only the fundraising aspect of our alliance but also the opportunity to get involved in practical projects."
