Homebase raises £1 million for Marie Curie Cancer Care

Homebase employees and customers have raised £1 million for Marie Curie Cancer Care with six months to go of the home enhancement retailer’s first two-year charity partnership. The No Place Like Home campaign target of £500,000 was reached in under a year.
Homebase employees celebrate raising £1 millionHomebase staff across the company’s 300 UK stores have been getting involved in a variety of fundraising events, ranging from participating in quizzes and dress down days to planting daffodils and playing charity cricket matches. The senior management team also took on their own ‘Director’s Challenge’ for the charity raising £93,000.
Homebase customers have purchased £58,000 worth of Marie Curie Cancer Care trolley keyrings and raised £8,000 through buying potted Tete a Tete daffodils. They have also raised £50,000 through purchasing Bulbs of ‘Choice’ – daffodil bulbs named in honour of the charity’s ‘Supporting the Choice to Die at Home’ Campaign.
