Getting Started with TikTok: An Introduction to Fundraising & Supporter Engagement

Sponsor a Christmas dinner and that’s just for starters

Howard Lake | 29 November 2007 | News

Imagine hosting Christmas lunch for 120 homeless people without peeling a sprout. For a £5 a month long-term pledge made at www.workplacegiving-uk.com/sponsor Crisis will provide a festive turkey dinner for 120 at a Crisis Centre near you each Christmas.
The exciting new sponsorship scheme from Workplace Giving UK allows you to send someone an extra special gift this Christmas. By agreeing to give an amount straight from your gross pay the charity in question receives not only your donation but the tax you would have paid on the amount. Your £5 a month pledge will therefore only cost you a mere £3.90 as a basic rate or £3 as a higher rate tax payer – the rest is topped up by the taxman.
What better gift for someone than committing to support a worthwhile cause on their behalf? According to Tom Sessions, Corporate Partnerships Executive at Crisis, “Sponsoring charity projects through Workplace Giving makes a huge difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the UK. This ongoing, long-term support is essential to allow projects like Crisis Christmas dinners to happen.”
The sponsorship scheme makes a perfect alternative gift for your loved ones. Why not consider:
Sponsoring a child through Action Aid – your recipient would receive personal letters or pictures from the child and updates and reports from local fieldworkers. They would also be welcome to send messages as well – 15 a month (cost to you 11.70 as a basic rate and 9 as a higher rate tax payer)
Sponsoring a child through the Pattaya Orphanage Trust providing them with food, clothing, education, schooling and most importantly the care they desperately need – 15 a month (cost to you 11.70 as a basic rate and 9 as a higher rate tax payer)
Becoming a friend of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People – hearing dogs change lives by alerting their deaf owners to sounds we take for granted, providing greater independence, confidence and security. You recipient will receive a personalised certificate and information about their dog, as well as regular updates – 5 a month (cost to you 3.90 as a basic rate and 3 as a higher rate tax payer)
