Blue Cross chosen as official Badminton charity

Animal welfare charity The Blue Cross has announced that it has been chosen as the 2008 Charity of the Year at one of the world’s most famous equestrian events, the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials.
The Blue Cross will be permitted to collect donations at the event next May. One of the cross-country fences at Badminton will be named in the charity’s honour and Blue Cross horses will lead out the competitors’ parade at the end of the event.
The Blue Cross is now seeking volunteers to help its fundraising efforts at Badminton, getting involved with activities such as selling raffle tickets and collecting donations. Applicants must be over 18 and can volunteer for one or more days of the event, from 1 to 4 May 2008. In return they will receive entry into the show.
